In late 2011 renowned British artist Richard Long made a trip to South Africa, visiting the Karoo and the Highveld, including a stay in Malapa, the cradle of humankind. The culmination of this trip was an exhibition at the South African National Gallery in Capetown.

The book Karoo Highveld, designed with the artist, combines a number of photographic and text works from this trip with an introduction by Ben Tufnell.
