Organised to coincide with the opening days of the Venice Biennale in 2011, Katie Paterson's 100 Billion Suns (Venice) was a perfomance-based artwork involving the firing of a confetti canon designed by Paterson, representing Gamma Ray Bursts, the brightest explosions in the universe.
Matt Watkins was commissioned by printer Team Impression to create a poster in response to the project. The artwork was created by producing a single circle for each of the 3,216 pieces of confetti in each canon, 'scattered' over the paper surface.
100 Billions Suns (Venice) was organised in collaboration with AnOther magazine and curated by Matt Watkins.
